Tebite,
who spoke with our correspondent yesterday, on
telephone while reacting to the appeal court's
ruling on the Peter Okocha and Emmanuel Uduaghan
electoral dispute, said the Ughelli South local
government constituency was beginning to wear a
look of an urban local government area. He
held that he was working with other stakeholders
in the area, particularly the state Deputy
Governor, Prof Utuama to ensure that they
influence social infrastructure to the
constituency and urged Peter Okocha to drop the
legal battle in the interest of peace and
sustainable development of the state.
The legislator said the administration of
Governor Uduaghan was working hard to transform
all parts of the state and said the Asaba
Airport project was also worthy of commendation.
He said other stakeholders irrespective of
their political parties should join hands with
Governor Uduaghan to move the state forward.
Tebite, then appealed to Deltans to continue
to support the Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan’’s
administration, adding that the present
administration would do more if it continues to
enjoy the support of the people of the state.
Speaking further, he said he would continue
to do his best within the limits of his
resources to transform the socio-economic lives
of the people of his constituency, stressing
that it was his desire that people of the area
were economically independent.
He enjoined those who have not benefited from
his empowerment program to be patient, promising
that the program would be extended to every
member of the constituency.
Tebite said with the coming of a new glass
factory, TechnoGlass to the area, the area would
soon become a beehive of commercial activities
and urged people of the area, particularly the
youths to take advantage of the company to get a
job for themselves and earn a living.
He also charged the people to extend their
hospitality to the officials of the glass
factory when it eventually comes on stream,
reiterating that the people of Ughelli North and
South and indeed Deltans as a whole were known
for their peaceful nature. |
